Conditions We Treat
Ear infections are painful and can cause the eardrum to rupture. They may also cause problems with hearing or balance. Children and adults whose ear infections keep coming back may need surgery. In cases where surgery is necessary, doctors insert ear tubes.
Severe nose conditions can cause discomfort and pressure in the face. Going far beyond symptoms of cold or allergy, they may also cause long-term discharge and fever.
Our doctors first try conservative treatments. Sometimes surgery is necessary for severe nose conditions, including:

Ear Nose and Throat ENT Surgical Procedures
Ear tubes help drain fluid from the middle ear. The tubes help prevent infections and help people hear better if fluid has affected their hearing. Children most often get these tubes, but sometimes adults need them.
Ear tube surgery can be done in the hospital or sometimes in an outpatient clinic setting. You or your child can go home the same day, but the procedure does require general anesthesia. Under general anesthesia, you (or your child) will be asleep and won't feel pain during the procedure.
The doctor makes a small opening in the eardrum and places the tube in the opening. Usually kids go home within two hours of the surgery. Your doctor may prescribe ear drops to relieve pain or ward off infection after surgery. Call our office if your child is in pain or has a fever or discharge.
