Early Detection is Key

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women in the U.S. Having access to affordable mammography is a key factor in early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Diagnostic Imaging at UnityPoint Health Marshalltown is now home to 3D mammography.

Supporting the Prevent Fund proves access to mammography to women who cannot afford this essential screening service.

Excellent Care, Close to Home

When UnityPoint Health arrived in 2017, we began working with the local community to transform how health care is delivered in Marshalltown. All the while, we've ensured thriving primary care and excellent emergency care close to home. Our commitment to the community included the expansion and building of a new, $38.4 million hospital and establishing a local leadership model.

The expanded hospital includes a new state-of-the-art emergency department and observation unit, and a medical-surgical unit. We’ve also added a Multi-Specialty Clinic offers an array of specialties under one roof so you have easy access to the healthcare services you need. The final piece of the expansion is an EMS garage for a fleet of ambulances and staff.
