About Us

UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine - East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza (The Clinic of Hope) is comprised of a team of medical professionals that are dedicated to serving the community as a consistent medical home for the Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant families and for others in the community without health insurance.

East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza was established in 1995 by UnityPoint Health - Des Moines residency faculty and community organizers who recognized the need for a rapidly growing and underinsured population of Latino women to have healthcare. Today, East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza is a full-service clinic that offers culturally competent care.

The clinic helps its patients with continuous, comprehensive care in the areas of adult, pediatric and women's health. An on-site social worker is also available to clinic patients for therapy in a clinical setting. Because of the outstanding healthcare, East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza has provided to the Des Moines community, they were recognized for their accomplishments with a nomination for the 2010 Aurora Award.

La Clinica accepts most insurance plans as well as Medicaid to help even more families in our community.
