Honor a Caregiver

Grinnell Foundation

Many patients and their loved ones express their gratitude through smiles, letters of thanks and homemade treats. The Grateful Patient Program offers another way for patients and families to recognize UnityPoint Health - Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC) team members who have made a difference in their lives. By choosing to recognize our staff, you are also making a meaningful impact on our ability to provide quality care.

A donation to the GRMC Foundation will honor any employee, doctor, nurse, volunteer or department of your choosing.

A Gift of Gratitude that says "Thank You"

Hearing the words "thank you" from a patient or family means so much. Gifts received through the Grateful Patient Program pay tribute to caregivers who have enriched your life while helping to provide you, your family, and our community with a healthier tomorrow.

Grateful patient gifts may be of any amount and directed to any area of the hospital. The caregivers that you are thanking will be notified of your donation, unless you wish to remain anonymous.

Grateful Patient - Feature Story

It was a Tuesday when Jon and Shauna of Brooklyn welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Gracie Marie, into the world in the GRMC obstetrics (OB) department. "We were very well taken care of from the start to the day we left," said Shauna. "The nurses are outstanding and went above and beyond our expectations. There is not a thing I would have wanted to go differently."

In the weeks leading up to the birth, Dr. Laura M. Ferguson, MD, prepared the firs first-time parents. "The OB staff was very friendly and helpful with preparing me for labor and delivery," said Shauna. "They had several methods of keeping me comfortable, my favorite being the whirlpool tub. We are so thankful to be in the hands of the best team and have no doubt we will be back!"

"Providing the best care for our patients is so rewarding and having new state-of-the-art, safe-patient handling equipment helps increase comfort for our patients," says Sheryl Baarda, RNC, OB nurse manager. "We are grateful for donations to support important equipment needs for the obstetrics department. It offers the best care for our newborn babies and their mothers."
