Healthcare Scholarships
Our health, and the health of our loved ones and neighbors, is everything. Looking to the future, we recognize that our need for a robust, talented and diverse healthcare workforce only continues to grow.
Meeting the needs of every member of our community demands that we build a workforce that includes more care providers of color. We know from research that patients of color have better outcomes when cared for by providers of color; hiring, training and providing multiple career pathways to future healthcare professionals who represent the diversity of the patients we serve will directly improve the critical racial health equity gaps we face in Wisconsin.

With your help, we can continue to support and develop the next generation of healthcare professionals.Your gift will support gifted local high school students of color pursuing a career in the healthcare field—many of whom often face financial barriers to pursuing their dream. Thanks to the generosity of donors, since 1987, nearly 700 extraordinary students have received scholarships, giving them the strong start they need to begin their educational journey toward becoming healthcare professionals.

This year we are excited to offer two healthcare scholarships through UnityPoint Health–Meriter. The goal of these scholarship programs is to support and encourage those in our community who are pursing higher education in the healthcare fi eld and to encourage workforce retention at UnityPoint Health–Meriter.

The application will open January 2 and close at noon on January 30, 2023, or as soon as we receive 25 complete applications. An incomplete application will result in ineligibility.

The application will open February 1 and will close at noon on Monday, February 27, 2023, or as soon as we receive 50 complete applications. An incomplete application will result in ineligibility.
- Please note both application forms require a Google account. If you do not already have one, you may create one for free here.
- Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
- Decisions are fi nal and at the sole discretion of our Scholarship Committee.
- Applicants will hear of the decisions via email by April 7, 2023.
- Checks will be handed out at the Scholarship Reception on May 3rd.
High School applicants are encouraged to reach out to their high school Guidance Counselor for support.
